Senior Data Analysis Specialists
Descriptions:
The Senior Data Scientist will design, develop, and implement frameworks for data analytics and data management for the company’s clients. They are in charge of acquiring data from different data sources, installing and maintaining databases, designing data models, and visualizing, discovering, evaluating, and interpreting trends from the data. They also analyze data using advanced machine learning and statistical techniques. S/he creates analytics models using advanced machine learning and statistical techniques.
Detailed Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Conduct data preparation (data cleaning, merging, data transformation) for data extracted from the existing electronic health systems and/or collected from other sources.
- Identify data quality issues and propose strategies to address them
- Disseminate key analysis results to improve the data quality and facilitate decision-making.
- Triangulate facility-level DHIS2 data with data from different sources
- Perform healthcare data analytics to generate actionable insights and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Visualize routine community-level health data (eCHIS data) for evidence-based decision-making at all levels of the health care system.
- Develop data visualization dashboards using different BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, and Excel…)
- Develop tailored-based dashboards on DHIS2 to improve data used for decision-making
- Collaborate with project clients, including, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health (MOH), Hospitals, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs.
- Collaborate with partners to develop a data warehouse that helps strengthen the use of health data for informed decision-making.
- Involve in DHIS2 data visualization dashboard customization
- Develop data model developed by taking into account the important health system indicators
- Support regional health bureaus in data analysis and visualization using geolocation data
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, and computer engineering or a related field, Master’s degree is a plus.
- At least two years of experience working in a complex work environment, preferably in projects related to digital health systems
- Excellent programming language knowledge such as Python, Java, and C#
- Having strong data analytical tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Power BI, Tableau …
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and show excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
- A proven ability to work as part of a team and to be self-managing.
- English language proficiency is required.
