A collaborative effort between the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, the University of Gondar-CDHi, and HABTech Solutions has yielded a groundbreaking innovation: a new Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) built on the DHIS2 platform. This cutting-edge system provides real-time monitoring of demographic trends and social determinants of health, reaching the individual household level. Notably, it offers offline data collection capabilities, ensuring data continuity even in areas with limited internet connectivity.
Designed for user-friendliness and effectiveness, the HDSS features local language support, Ethiopian date pickers, automated GPS mapping, and customizable business logic. This system marks a significant step forward in data collection and management, paving the way for improved public health outcomes in Ethiopia
