Blood Safety Information System Enhancement (BSIS)

In partnership with the Ethiopian Blood and Tissue Bank Service, HABTech Solutions is working to enhance the Blood Safety Information System (BSIS), a crucial system for managing blood donations and transfusions across Ethiopia. This project aims to modernize the current business process, improving the blood safety, traceability, and efficiency of blood management processes throughout the country. By upgrading the BSIS, the project aligns with Ethiopia’s efforts to meet global blood safety standards and modernize its healthcare system.

The core objective of the project is to streamline the tracking and management of blood donations, ensuring a more reliable and timely supply of safe blood for patients. The enhanced system will provide real-time data on blood availability, improve the transparency of blood management, and ensure that each unit of blood is traceable from donation to transfusion. This will contribute to safer and more effective blood transfusions, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for patients.

Through this collaboration, the project also supports Ethiopia’s broader digital transformation goals. By implementing a more advanced and integrated system, it will not only strengthen blood safety protocols but also foster greater public trust in the healthcare system. This initiative is a significant step toward building a more efficient, modern, and patient-centered healthcare infrastructure in Ethiopia.
